F5 today is all about impeachment. As you know, Donald Trump was impeached for a second time this week, becoming the only US president to hold that dishonorable distinction. No links this week, just five facts about impeachment.

))  There have been only 4 impeachments of US presidents. Trump owns half of them.

)) Trump has been charged with one count of incitement of insurrection. This charge relates not only to his assembling and urging on of the mob that tried to stop the counting of ballots, but also his efforts to pressure the Georgia Secretary of State to “find votes” for him to win that state after the election was certified.

))  Impeachment is not a conviction, but rather an indictment, similar to a grand jury proceeding. The House impeaches and the Senate tries the impeached official. 2/3 or the Senate is needed for a conviction.

)) Once convicted, the official loses his or her pension, travel allowance, and Secret Service protection.

)) The Senate may also vote to bar the official from ever holding office again.
