Amplia Group co-founder recognised by Small Business Britain as one of UK's most 100 inspirational female entrepreneurs
Kathy Kyle Bonomini has been named as one of the UK’s most 100 inspirational female entrepreneurs by Small Business Britain’s f:Entrepreneur ‘#ialso100’ campaign.
Kathy is an award-winning communications expert and has been recognised by Small Business Britain as one of UK's most 100 inspirational female entrepreneurs. She recently co-founded a new UK-based company during lockdown called DigiKind, focused on supporting the local British high street. Having seen businesses and organisations, including many of her previous clients, across a broad range of sectors, struggle during the pandemic, she decided that she wanted to do more to help. Kathy is being showcased alongside 100 female entrepreneurs from across the UK, as part of the campaign’s recognition of the multi-achievements of women that have proved critical to society during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now in its fourth year, f:Entrepreneur was launched in 2017 to highlight amazing female role models to help and inspire all small businesses, through content, stories and events. It particularly aims to showcase trailblazing female entrepreneurs that lead small businesses alongside a roster of other responsibilities, such as volunteering, mentoring and community support, activities.
Indeed, Kathy was also called out for her work as an award-winning communications expert, who is focussing her efforts on supporting the local British high street. Kathy is an entrepreneur, who co-founded Amplia Group in 2016 (and continues to serve as a partner), supports and empowers local communities as a communications professional, volunteers for non-profits like Uprising UK, advises “tech for good” start-ups, spearheads community safety campaigns, and mentors communications professionals and women-owned small businesses. She has extensive experience working with UK business improvement districts (BIDs), businesses, start-ups, schools, corporations and local and foreign governments.
From beekeepers to PPE, tech entrepreneurs to pole-dance-enthusiasts, this year’s campaign celebrates inspiring and resilient female entrepreneurs that have flourished despite Covid-19, with many still growing or starting new ventures.
On being listed in the #ialso100, Kathy Kyle Bonomini said:
“I am honoured and thrilled to be included with these dynamic, innovative women who are making a difference in their communities. I can’t wait to feature each of their stories on DigiKind to share and promote the positive impact they are making.”
“I launched DigiKind because I believe there is something more we can do as a community to empower each other. Together with my team, we are creating a support network that connects BID managers, local councils, organisations, businesses and residents. We are shining a light on and promoting the best of British innovation - sharing fresh and creative content and ‘tech for good’ best practices. We are inspiring people, businesses, and ultimately, British towns and cities to never give up and to reimagine what’s possible. My goal is to build sustainable communities and to help revitalise our economy.”
Both f:Entrepreneur and Small Business Britain were founded by Michelle Ovens CBE, who is also the director of Small Business Saturday UK.
“Congratulations to all the inspiring women chosen to join this year’s #ialso100,” said Michelle Ovens. “Despite the significant obstacles thrown at them in the last year, female entrepreneurship continues to grow and flourish. We need to continue, and increase, our support for these incredible women and celebrate their amazing strength and success in the face of huge challenges.”
“We have seen so many women embracing change, generating and exploring new ideas, rallying around their communities and supporting their peers. This resilience is hugely valuable and will set them up for success as they will be at the very heart of the UK’s recovery.”
