Strong, Black and female. This is our Friday Five.
By Darren Katz, Co-Founder
Today our Friday Five is a toast to Black women.
We start off with the incomparable Michelle Obama, who demonstrated in her DNC speech that her superpower is empathy.
Last week, we spotlighted Senator Kamala Harris. This week, we take a look at how she is sending a message of hope to young girls of color.
One of the rising stars of the Democratic Party is Georgian Stacey Abrams who is leading the fight to guarantee access to the polls and also kicked off the keynote address at the DNC.
Speaking of rising stars, check out tennis champ and activist Coco Gauff speaking off the cuff. She just turned 16.
And as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment in the US, which gave women the right to vote, let’s remember these 5 Black suffragists who helped make it happen.
