Leadership is not just a position. It is an action.

“Leadership is not just a position. It is an action.”
My former boss, Donna Harris said this. It really rings true for me. It is #InternationalWomensDay today and I spent my day doing the following:
Getting my three children fed, clothed, and to school on time.
Taking conference calls with my clients.
Engaging in original content curation for multiple clients’ social media feeds - live instagramming, live tweeting, and facebook.
Specifically writing about clients whose businesses are female-led and creating content for them.
I donated to a small but strong group a women fighting for a civil liberty and environmental issue locally in the UK.
Stopped to make a gorgeous, wholesome dinner for my family. I love cooking for them.
Arranged meetings for new business leads. (I really have the best job ever.)
Collected my three children from two different schools.
Realised that I do this every day and that this is a ‘normal’ day for me and that I will put my children down for bed in a few hours after dinner and I will open my MacBookPro up again and start working again.
On international women’s day we pause and talk inspiring women. Every day I strive to raise my children to think critically, to be kind, to share, to learn, to do their best, to have fun, and to always be themselves. Every day I strive to help my clients change the world and to achieve their goals. Every day I try to learn something new. Every day I know my actions - no matter how small - are making a difference for someone - a client, my family, my community - and that is rewarding.
Here’s to the women out there, leading through their actions.
